Campaigning Methods

APA carries out undercover investigations and comprehensive data gathering on the UK trade in wild animals for pets. Working with local authorities, the police, and associate groups, APA aims to assist the crackdown on wildlife crime. A team of scientists, vets and environmental lawyers contribute greatly to the efforts of APA in curbing the activities of wildlife dealers.

APA harnesses the power of the media to publicise the cruelty, destructiveness and corruption associated with the wildlife trade. Many people are unaware that the UK is a major consumer of exotic animals. We produce educational and campaign literature and rely on a national network of APA volunteers to help us distribute information. This raises awareness of the suffering endured by wild animals in captivity and hopefully discourages people from purchasing exotic pets.
