The Animal Protection Agency (APA) is the only European organisation focused on ceasing the trade in wild animals as pets.
Founded in 2004, APA publishes articles in the popular and professional press; regularly contributes to the media; conducts scientific studies; provides advice to local and national Government; and offers a variety of educational resources, from leaflets to film.
APA assisted in securing the ban on importing wild birds into the EU for the pet trade, and has already persuaded many councils to disallow wildlife trading events, as well as provided key evidence for a landmark High Court judicial review - our influence culminating in new legislation, and an end to pet markets in Great Britain.
If you agree the wildlife trade must stop - before it's too late - then this successful and dynamic organisation needs your support.
Please make a donation today.
Our online donation service will take you to the WorldPay site which is 100% secure, but of course we always welcome donations by post too.
A regular gift by standing order would help APA to
plan ahead with confidence. Donating by direct debit also
saves resources by reducing our admin costs - so even more
of your donation is used directly on campaigns. The choice
is yours to give as little or as much as you'd like but the
following suggested amounts outline the benefits to you:
Please take a few minutes to print off a standing order form.
Everyone setting up a monthly £5 standing order will receive this signed and numbered wildlife print by artist Steve Hutton. Prints are limited to 1000 and are A3 size (297mm x 420mm)
Our strategic campaign initiatives need to be carefully researched. This may involve undercover investigations, scientific analysis and then the expensive production of reports, leaflets and other campaign materials. We keep our administration costs to a minimum to ensure that more pennies in the pound directly benefit campaigns.
Informing the public of the scale and severity of species and environmental destruction, and animal suffering inherent in the exotic pet trade is an ongoing necessity. Our education programmes are key to reducing the demand for exotics and require that we distribute large volumes of attractive and colourful literature. We have to cover the cost of postage and printing as well as the upkeep of this website as a comprehensive educational resource.
You can donate online - see top of page - or if you prefer, you can make a donation by phone via credit card or debit card by calling the APA office on 01273 674253. Otherwise you can donate by post and send your cheque or postal order made out to APA to:
